Jubilee Art Studio
We started off by arriving at the studio by bus. We were then led by the Jubilee art representatives on an art walk. We saw some very unique abstract art e.g. a piece of art made out of old books!
We took a 15 minute break.
After the break, we started to work on our own abstract art pieces.
On an 11 by 14 inch canvas, we created our own personal textures, painted them and then followed instructions to complete the assigned tasks. 3 quarters through the project we had a 45 minute lunch break. We then completed our projects. After critiquing them, we arranged them in a collage and took a grand picture.
After the picture, the representatives gave us a gift bag and then we went off to the bus which was waiting out side the Jubilee Auditorium.

I learned that texture actually affects the overall picture. When we were able to paint our own pictures was pretty cool. The giant green Lady made me think. IT would have been better if we could look at whatever picture we wanted to instead of going in order- Karlen

ReplyDeleteThe coolest thing i saw today was the book painting.
This made me think more deeply since the paintings were not direct and I had to interpret more.
Today could have been better if we did sculptures as well as the painting we did today.

i learned that there were different ways for prepping a painting, i thought that the fact that we got to go paint ourselves was extremely awesome. this made me think that painting is not as tedious as i though it was. it could have been better if you had done an art project that many people had not done before, or something more exotic like an ice sculpture. i thought that the painting that was made of book was very cool!!! 0.0

What I learned today was - creating textures helps to make better art and create more interesting paintings to enjoy
ReplyDeleteWhat was cool today was - using the actual paint on our paintings to add colour to our paintings as well as the textures
This made me think - the impasto paintings, the ones with depth in the paintings. I was trying to figure out what the paintings were and they made me think.
Today could've been better if - I wasn't as tired

Today i learned how to make different kinds of textures of different materials. It was cool when I saw the book painting. This made me think that you can make paintings out of almost anything. Today could have been better if we could have painted a different type of art instead of abstract.

it took us along time to make the small paintings, i wonder how long it would take to make one of the large paintings we saw.

1. Today, i learned that you could use simple, cheap materials to texture nice canvas. I didn't think it would be so easy (:

3. The paintings with many lines, dots, details ect,made me think and wonder how long it would take to complete them.
4.I Think that if me had a bit more time to work on our projects, the trip would have been just slightly better.
